AcroYoga blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics, and the loving kindness of healing arts. These three lineages form the foundation of a practice that cultivates trust, playfulness, and community.
AcroYoga may provide physical and mental health benefits. In addition to the exercise and strength building aspects of Acroyoga, the partner balancing can improve concentration and the massage elements can provide stress relief.
AcroYoga has been practiced since the beginning of the century. One of the oldest videos of someone doing AcroYoga is with Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, practicing the role of the base, while a child executed some asanas in 1938. Since then, Acroyoga has gained lots of new movements and is still changing.
